Decades ago, when I was still searching for this music that no one performed in France, the name Terry Jennings came when I started to deepen my researches on La Monte Young.
Terry was a composer very close to him, and La Monte even invited him to be part in a huge art book collecion.
But .... his music was never printed, never performed ...
It was thanks to Mamoru Fujieda that I was finally able to get those so much desired scores ! Mamoru knew Terry and had all he composed.
A very eerie music, dark and slow. I performed it in various places with always great success. And once, during my Night of MInimal Piano, i recorded and published it on youtube.

It is only 10 years after, that I received a message from the Jennings family saying that they loved my performance and gave me access to an unknown 17 minutes long piece that was found at the bottom of a box full of documents & letters.

I really hope you will like this mysterious composer and haunting music !

After being the first french concert pianist to support, perform avant-garde, experimental & minimalism music all around the world, with event such as the Night of Minimal Piano, it was time to create a Label / Série dedicated to all the discoveries I did during those last 2 decades : the Nicolas Horvath Discoveries (Collections 1001 Notes)

Il y a une bonne vingtaine d'années, alors que je recherchais cette musique que personne ne jouait en France, le nom de Terry Jennings est apparu lorsque j'ai commencé à approfondir mes recherches sur La Monte Young.
Terry était un compositeur très proche de La Monte, et La Monte l'a même invité à faire partie d'une immense collection de livres d'art.
Mais .... sa musique n'a jamais été imprimée, jamais jouée ...
C'est grâce à Mamoru Fujieda que j'ai enfin pu obtenir ces partitions tant désirées ! Mamoru connaissait Terry et avait tout ce qu'il avait composé.
Une musique très étrange, sombre et lente. Je l'ai joué dans divers endroits avec toujours beaucoup de succès. Et une fois, lors de ma Night of Minimal Piano, je l'ai enregistré et publié sur youtube.

Et 10 ans après, j'ai reçu un message de la famille Jennings disant qu'ils aimaient mon exécution et m'ont donné accès à une pièce inconnue de 17 minutes qui a été trouvée au fond d'une boîte pleine de documents et de lettres.

J'espère vraiment que vous aimerez ce compositeur mystérieux et sa musique envoûtante !
